Lonnie has recently enjoyed international fellowship teaching people from around the world how to sing African American gospel and spirituals with spirit, conviction of style, and appreciation of the history.  Since 2012, he has been a conductor with the Chicago Children's Choir and is the founding conductor of its Englewood neighborhood choir since 2013. he believes in the resounding power of allyship and understanding that occurs when people of diverse backgrounds align to sing music of many cultures in a powerful and just manner.
